PLEASING GOD

Saturday, January 30, 2010

"Rather, the Lord's delight is in those who honor him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love." NLT

You want to please God? Then honor him!

As the Apostle Paul said in Ephesians 5:10 "Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it." Msg

The Bible says, "Noah was a pleasure to the Lord." Genesis 6:8 LB

Noah pleased God because he trusted Him completely. He believed that God knew what was best for him. He had faith in God.

The Bible says, "Without faith it is impossible to please God." Hebrews 11:6 NIV

Notice that powerful word "impossible." It means you absolutely cannot please God without faith. It can't be done!

He knows what is best for you. Trust Him. Please Him. He will smile--and so will you.

That's what I'm praying for...to please no one else but Him alone. Daily. Then, He is the One Who sustains what I need to have in order to accomplish that goal in the first place. Awesome God! God bless you.

It really is a profound truth to get your head around in some ways. To think that is all it takes to please Him, is to trust Him. Wonderful. Thanks for this, Debbie

And what a gift..that He is the one who gives us the faith that is necessary to please Him. Truly He loves us and does meet all our needs in order to trust.
Great reminder.

For some reason this reminds me of Mother Thera's words, "I find it hard sometimes to smile at Jesus. He can be very demanding."

But what incredible rewards, eh?!

'Keeping you and Charlotte in my thoughts and prayers.

Figure out what pleases Jesus and do it by faith. That is a good word.

I have a sign in my home that says, "Great strength comes from faith in God." So, so true.

Thanks for this wonderful reminder! I desire to please and honor God in everything I do and say. To trust and obey is the only way to please our Lord.

I know you don't like long posts. My last week's post and this week's post for Spiritual Sundays are very long :).

Thank you for your post! I love the power of scripture when verses are presented like you have it. Also, I love to read and so it was a delight to see what books you have on your sidebar. In particular, the Alcorn book caught my eye, If God is Good. Thank you for your post on that as well! ~LeAnn
