GOD WILL OPEN DOORS

And we know that in all things God works for the good
of those who love him, who have been called according to his promise.
                                                                                                                      Romans 8:28

I have spent most of my Christian life with those who did not expect too much from God.

In their minds miracles were something for the Old and New Testaments---not today.

Oh occasionally they might allow that God might have intervened if it absolutely couldn't be explained in any other way.

I have always felt--why pray for healing, for the life of a loved one, for safe passage, for God's favor, if "whatever will be, will be"? Why? Why pray at all?

We can expect preferential treatment, not because of who we are, but because of whose we are.

It's not because we are better than anybody else. It is because our Father is the King of kings, and His glory and honor spill over onto us.

I call it grace. It's amazing!

I'm so thankful for God's grace!

I'm also thankful that He desires to hear from us through prayer. I know He often brings someone to my mind and I pray. At times, I later find out that they had a need and I wasn't aware of that need. Only God ...

I'm trusting Him for a miracle in my life.

Blessings to you and Charlotte,
Debbie

Che sera, sera?
This reminds me of a radio dialogue earlier in the week regarding the Tucson shootings ... why did God spare the Congresswoman and not the child?
I was moved to replay your CD and reflect on our Seasons.
Once more, I'm nudged to reflection. Thank you, Clif!

God's grace...without it....I wouldn't be free...or filled with joy....and wake up singing...no matter what's going on. He is a great God....and I'm so glad He saw something in me worth saving. Great post. Made me want to shout thanks to Him for always being in my corner.

Don't you think even though we pray, we don't really expect God to do anything? Maybe we don't want to be disappointed. God's word says if we trust in Him we will never be disappointed. Each time we petition God for something, we can believe He will act in all His love and mercy and grace. What an awesome God! Blessings to you Clif.

What great points you make. Such an encouraging post! I was very blessed years ago when I was a new Christian to look for miracles every day, in big AND little things. I took that to heart and it's been a joy over the years. From finding lost keys to healing sick grandchildren to praying for comfort in the midst of loss and sorrow, God taught me to pray about EVERYTHING and look to Him and praise Him for all things. And what a joy as I truly do see His miracles daily.

Joining you in looking for God to do awesome things, starting with one of my favorite and encouraging Bible verses (just shared it with my granddaughter again yesterday)! Have a blessed week!

Hi Clif,

I did enjoy reading this post that asks the question: "...why pray for healing, for the life of a loved one, for safe passage, for God's favor, if 'whatever will be, will be'? Why? Why pray at all?" -- The answer as you point out is because of whose we are.

Blessings and peace.
