Hi Cliff, Our words and our tone can leave someones heart broken. Sometimes words just flow out of my mouth with hardly any thought and that shouldn't be the case. I don't want anyone to leave me feeling less I desire that they leave feeling more. Thank you for your Post. Have a wonderfully blessed weekend! Melly:)
This so ministered to me tonight, thank you for sharing, I want to make sure that what I speak doesn't have the kind of undertones that would break a heart or a spirit. Thank you for sharing. Blessings, Sue
CLif, that is so true! I am particularly aware of this as a speech major, and when I catch myself with an unkind tone, I try to switch gears. It's so important. I pray that He gives all of us the voice of the Savior.
Thank you Clif for stopping by and sharing this lovely truth with us! I lived in Phoenix when I was 19 for 8 mos while attending the Bobby Ball Talent School....many moons ago! LOL! Thank you also for all your years in service to the Lord!! I know it's a very hard position. Lu
A timely post my friend.. So many people stressed out due to job losses and financial constraints... our poor little children are the first to feel those angry words...
I'm much more mellow in my older age... I often wish I'd had it when I was 20...
Hi Cliff. Just wanted to say thank you for visiting my blog. It's great to see new names commenting. What a beautiful poem to share within blog land. Truly, words to live by.
Ha!! Very appropriate for me and my hubby today!! We were discussing this. We have been under a lot of stress from in-law illness, the economy, and a hard time for one of my sons. The stress causes us to be less careful of how we say things--we are tired, grumpy, and need to be more watchful of the way we speak!!
True words! I work with people with severe and profound mental disabilities, yet they know by our tone of voice and the tension in the air if all is well or not. What a responsibility we have to "Preach the gospel, and if necessary, to use words"!
Oh I love this! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a blessed Sunday.

ReplyDeleteLike the Book of James points out the tongue is a powerful tool -- good and bad! Liked your Poem!

That "Sticks and Stones can break our bones, but words can never hurt you" is certainly not true, is it? Words can hurt badly, and also leave scars!
ReplyDeleteIt hurts me to think of little children being abused by words as well as physically.
