WHAT GOD HATH PROMISED
God hath not promised
Skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways
All our lives through;
God hath not promised
Sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow,
Peace without pain.
But God hath promised
Strength for the day,
Rest for the labor,
light for the way,
Grace for the trials,
Help from above,
Unfailing sympathy,
Undying love.
(Annie Johnson Flint, quoted in The Tale of the Tardy Oxcart by Charles R. Swindoll)

ReplyDeleteClif,
ReplyDeleteI have soooo missed reading your posts and have read through and caught up. I have to tell you how VERY MUCH the post "The Company of the Concerned" meant to me! I am so thankful to many of the bloggers who have been such a support to me and you Clif, have been such a constant support and so like Jesus ~ I just truly could not express enough thanks or share how much you mean to me and my family. The LORD knows because I have said so many times "Thankyou Lord for Clif and asked for blessings to be poured out to you and Charlotte. You are both so dear to my heart and I will FOREVER be grateful to have found you in this bloggy world! You are an amazing example of Christ and you blessed my dad so much. When I arrived at his house early this month the card you all made for him was the first thing I saw as it was on his dresser mirror for all to see when they entered his bedroom. It was a reminder that someone was praying for him! What a wonderful thing you all did! I love you Clif....thank you for EVERYTHING!
This is lovely. And, He has promised peace and comfort to all who believe. I pray that all will some day realize that peace and comfort.
ReplyDeleteYep, God is good. Thanks, Clif, and Happy New Year!
