Such a wonderful, simple yet powerful post! I am a leader in the Stephen Ministry at our church. As you may know, the Stephen Ministry is a confidential, one-on-one lay ministry. One of the most important elements of our training is on LISTENING. So, I really appreciate this. Bless you, Clif.
So simple and clear...and profound. The people who have the gift of listening are such a blessing. The rest of us need to work at it...Blessings to you.
this is so true....and Cliff...thanks for your comment about being scared to stand up for 47 yrs. Please pray for me...I don't want to run. I want to be His voice. I want to make a difference for someone else...and give them hope. Thanks so much. Nikki
Yes, to listen....wish I had more time to do JUST that! Seems the boys keep the quiet at bay in order for me to be able to even hear, much less "listen". I actually get up at 4:30a just so I can before they do!
What an excellent reminder for this busy member of the Sandwich Generation. It's so easy to get too caught up in the day to day needs of caring for elderly parents and helping with grandkids. The day ends and you realize you DID a lot but might not have LISTENED much, which is just as important - sometimes much more important. Thank you!
The fine art of listening! Not everyone has this talent, but we should. I have gotten better at this over the years, with the help of my husband. There is always room for improvement. Blessings, Ginger

ReplyDeleteWhat's that quote ... something about God giving us two ears but one mouth, to use in that order.
