We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in 2008. Our children helped us celebrate with an all expense paid all arranged vacation In Hawaii.

Hi Cliff,
Our words and our tone can leave someones heart broken. Sometimes words just flow out of my mouth with hardly any thought and that shouldn't be the case. I don't want anyone to leave me feeling less I desire that they leave feeling more.

CLif, that is so true! I am particularly aware of this as a speech major, and when I catch myself with an unkind tone, I try to switch gears. It's so important. I pray that He gives all of us the voice of the Savior.

That "Sticks and Stones can break our bones, but words can never hurt you" is certainly not true, is it? Words can hurt badly, and also leave scars!
It hurts me to think of little children being abused by words as well as physically.

A timely post my friend.. So many people stressed out due to job losses and financial constraints... our poor little children are the first to feel those angry words...
I'm much more mellow in my older age... I often wish I'd had it when I was 20...

Ha!! Very appropriate for me and my hubby today!! We were discussing this. We have been under a lot of stress from in-law illness, the economy, and a hard time for one of my sons. The stress causes us to be less careful of how we say things--we are tired, grumpy, and need to be more watchful of the way we speak!!
True words! I work with people with severe and profound mental disabilities, yet they know by our tone of voice and the tension in the air if all is well or not. What a responsibility we have to "Preach the gospel, and if necessary, to use words"!
