OCTOBER 5, 1936 WAS A GREAT DAY

Tuesday, October 07, 2008

We took a holiday yesterday (although everyday is a holiday when you are retired) and journeyed up the mountain to the beautiful red rock country of Sedona.

Sunday was Charlotte’s birthday and we were still celebrating on Monday. We wanted to do something special and Sedona is special.

I spent my day yesterday being grateful.

First, I was grateful to God that He looked down on earth on October 5, 1936 and said, “You know, they need somebody special down there that will grow up to bless the lives of many. He made Charlotte!

Second, and long before 1936, He said, “They need a touch of red down there that will take their breath away." He made the red rock country of Sedona, Arizona.

Isn’t God good? We all have so much to be grateful for. The morning news was reporting that people are filled with anxiety about many, many things. But even in this time of crisis let’s not forget how blessed we are. Don’t wait until November 27 to be thankful.

BE THANKFUL EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY DAY!

Thank you, Jesus, for providing our sacrifice to open our worship directly to our Father in Heaven, you are the Bread of Life, and have provided a richness in love and understanding. We are indeed thankful for what we DO have in health, family, surroundings and food.
verily, verily

Glad you got to celebrate together. I enjoyed the pictures Charlotte posted.
