LOSING SIGHT OF WHAT'S IMPORTANT

Saturday, May 14, 2011

This is our predicament.
Over and over again, we lose sight of
what is important and what isn't.
Epictetus

Ah yes, what is important. I have struggled with this all my life. It's about time I get it right.

When I get to the end of my life and take my last breath, what do I want my life to have been about?

What?

It's a powerful reminder to make each moment count and enjoy the life He has given us. :)

Always and ever - GOD! That much I know. But how often I practice it.... Thank you for great food for thought. :)

Oh, I'm squirming a bit! ...Although I like how you challenge us to really think, Clif.

This reminds me of a Susan Kroupa verse:
"And when I look behind, at all whose lives have merged with mine, I pray that one might say, I have made a difference in their life."

Thank you for making a difference!

We lost a very talented, God-fearing, God-loving, young man on May5. He was just 20 years old and had been given a full scholarship from the ROTC. He was completing his first year in Utah and the truck he was riding in was struck and Hance was killed. A 57 year old woman chose to get behind the wheel DRUNK. She was traveling in the wrong lane on the Highway for an unbelievable 20 mile stretch.

Attending his memorial service certainly presented this very question. Hance lived life to the very fullest. He loved God, His family and was a friend to sooo many.
There wasn't anything about him that was inspiring and I think those of us who attended his service although sad to say goodbye knew that one day we will see him again. Until then we all hope to live our lives bringing honor and glory to God....just as Hance did.

Bless you Clif!

Encouragement. I want my life to have been lived to encourage others: my family, friends, acquaintances and those I touched everyday in stores, restaurants and daily life.

With joy!
