Like Tony Bennett, I left my heart in San Francisco.
But when I think of that great city I always have mixed emotions. There is so much to like and so much to dislike.
One dislike started on a visit to Haight Ashbury Street back in the sixties. The Hippies had taken over that part of town.
I knew back then that one day these liberal, socialistic thinking kooks would be "running things" for all of us.
I have lived long enough to see that prediction come true. I'm not a prophet! I'm just an ordinary citizen with a little common sense.
Today, from the President of our nation all down through his administration we see these kooks.
They are liberal, socialistic thinkers with no moral values.
And the disturbing thing about all of this is that if you say anything about this or try to do anything about it, you are labeled a far right nut case and completely ignored.
My friends our country is speeding in the wrong direction.
Is there any hope? Yes! I believe there is. I believe there are enough conservative people with common sense to change this trend.
BUT WE HAVE TO STAND UP AND START TALKING ABOUT IT. THAT'S THE ONLY WAY IT WILL CHANGE. SITTING AROUND SAYING NOTHING AND PRETENDING TO BE TOLERANT AND PIOUS WILL NOT ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING.

The inmates certainly seem to be running the asylum these days, but I believe there are very many conservatives out there fed up and ready to speak out! More town halls, please....My Mom was raised in a much different world, and even I feel so much has changed from the 70's until now...SCARY. I love San Fran as well for the great things (memories) about it, not the wacko things! Lori
Clif,
I believe what you are saying is completely true. I think for far too long we lay quiet and think we don't want to rock the boat and cause waves. I just think we need to watch what we do and make sure our motives are completely Godly and seek His will for this country on our knees and get up and act.

Clif, I also have spoken out on my blog about this. I want to post about this insanity every single day, to try to reach as many as possible, so that more and more people will write to Congress in protest of the take over. Rush Limbaugh said a few months ago that this is the result of ignoring God, and ignoring biblical standards. I don't understand Christians, some of them friends of mine, who don't think we should "get involved" with politics, that God will take care of it. Where, may I ask, is this formula for peace and righteousness in scripture? And are there no decent politicians willing to stand up to the illegal agenda of this administration? How can the white house, constitutionally, mandate that any American citizen pay for anything they don't want? Why aren't we hearing Congress voice their opposition to this kind of nonsense? GRRRRRRRRRR.
Blessings,
Mary
Not so much for myself, but I worry so for the future of my son and his children ... to all our children.
It's become so difficult to "get along" and appear benign, when some days I just want to scream, "Don't you GET it?"
To your post ... and in concert with Lori, Kat and Mary I can only add, Amen!
Myra
For our children's children we must stand for the good, for what is right.
BTW: I believe you mean Tony Bennett.
