FACEBOOK

My wife, daughter and every friend I have in the world is on Facebook.

I have been slow about joining up.

Why? I don't really have a reason. It seems I am always the last one to do almost anything.

I may fall in love with it someday. But for now I just kinda like it a little.

So much of it seems silly to me. I know, I know, I put silly "stuff" on there too. It's because that's about all I can think of.

"Stay connected." "Keep in touch." "Be part of community." "CARE."

I know---I really do. I care!

Do you love Facebook? Tell me why. I really want to know.

(If you leave a comment telling me you love Facebook and yet you are one of those who never post anything, I think I'll scream.)

Clif,

I too, have been invited, pleaded with and begged to join Facebook. I honestly don't have the time if I dedicate myself to my blog and those that visit and I follow. There isn't enough time to continue to work on my relationships with God, my family and my friends if I pursue this. For now I just smile when they try to get me to join.

It is fun to me. I have loved finding old friends from high school and their families. I like the pictures that my cousins (that I no longer see very much) post of their kids so I can watch them as they grow up. I put my memory verses on it and encouraging quotes when I find them. Some of the stuff is ridiculous. I tried a farm in the beginning but thought what is the point so I just blocked those applications! Guess I will look you up!

Lots of invitations but so far, I haven't joined...And still not planning to...No reason except there are other ways too to communicate aside from this. Blessings.

Like Kat I have also received invitations etc but I do not want to join because I am more of a private person and I think facebook is not all that private. I would prefer a blog because I think one has more control because you created it etc. Don't know if I am making sense.

You make me laugh!

I think it takes a chatty person to love FB. I am not chatty so it has taken me a while to connect.

I have found a new community of friends on FB. Mostly they are younger and are from my church. I liked getting to know the church people a little better.

But, I know what you mean about people never posting. UGH!

Clif- I love Facebook. I've been in touch with people I haven't seen in years. Friends from high school, college and relatives I haven't seen in years. My cousin ended up posting photos of us from when we were children. It's been such fun. And I have relatives in Norway who have connected with me. We may have a family reunion this summer. So, take the plunge. I connect with Charlotte on Facebook too. :)

Blessings,
Debbie

I actually use facebook almost daily. I' m not a huge fan of the games...but my husband is. I play scrabble with my relatives on facebook. I also update my status with fun links, happenings from my day, and photos of the kids-cause all the relatives and friends are on facebook and love to see pictures. My blog also feeds into my facebook status-so every time I post to my blog it shows up on facebook too. I have been able to stay in touch will old friends, classmates, and relatives in a more casual everyday way. It's fun!

I see no need for FB, Clif. I'm on it, but only so that my grandchildren can more easily keep in touch. I don't "friend" others because I don't see the reason why.

Hi Clif. I do have a Facebook because many of my friends practically begged me to do it. Personally, I am not a Facebook fan. The only reason I like Facebook is because it does enable me to keep in closer touch with friends who have moved to other states and sometimes when I go onto Facebook I find that they are there and I can have a live chat with them. I think the majority of the stuff on Facebook -- all those ridiculous games and quizes and such are a waste of time. I never do any of those, and I rarely post. I much prefer blogging.

Clif, I can't say that I love Facebook but I do appreciate the opportunity that it gives me to keep in contact with family and friends that live so far away...ones that we wouldn't be in contact with without that. There are very silly things about FB, but one thing that I've found as a wonderful tool to God's Glory is the ability to share what we blog as a link there.

So many of my family members and friends are on there, it allows them to find out what God is doing in my life when I share a post with them from FB.

:)

Clif,
Yes, I am on FB...do I LOVE it...no but it keeps me in touch with my girls who live in other states with their husbands and kids and with friends from school and church. It would be the same as a phone call but cheaper! LOL!
