Great question! David asked, “Shall I give to the Lord that which costs me nothing?”

David had been offered everything he needed to give an offering to God. He turned it down. He didn’t want to offer to God that which had cost him nothing.

Most of us would have jumped at the chance—not David.

When we put thought and effort into our giving, we get great joy.

Think about this the next time you give something. Little time, little effort, little thought—little joy.
