In his book, Bunkhouse Logic, Ben Stein says, “Nothing happens by itself.” I agree.
“We all pray that the goodies of life will somehow come our way because of someone else’s exertions. At least, we expect that a bare minimum of work will be done on our behalf by someone else, sometime in our lives.”
“This world is rich in possibilities. It overflows with the good things that mankind has created for itself. They are out there for the taking. But before you learn how to take them, you must first learn that no one will do it for you.”
“Think enough of yourself to take care that you do for yourself. That is how you will thrive in the world, and that is the only way.”
