Almost nothing moves me more than beautiful music. The great old hymns of the church and even some of the contemporary music draws me closer to God and brings tears to my eyes.
Great piano, violin, full orchestra and vocal music moves me deeply.
If I am alone, moving music makes me very melancholy.
Memories flood my mind. Some good. Some bad. My emotions run deep.
When all of the cheap, loud, vulgar, meaningless ditties have all died and been forgotten, this great, moving music I am thinking about will live on.
Almost nothing moves me more than beautiful music.

I seldom cry. Just about the only thing that can make me cry is seeing someone else cry (I used to play the organ for funerals and could not look out at the bereaved) and great music. We are so blessed that there are those that the Lord has gifted with the talents He gives them and they share with us.
I actually love the music you have on your blog Clif. I also enjoy David Nevue's piano playing. I can work with it in the background very easily. However, I also love old hymns, Southern Gospel, and even many contemporary artist's songs. It depends on my mood. But I have to have a little of each.
Hmmm ...I'd say "grand standards" set off my water works -- particularly in the mornings when my mind's all relaxed; prone to wander.
Let's see - "The Way We Were", "For the Good Times", "The Homecoming" .... and for some CRAZY reason, I always get weepy when they play "Pomp & Circumstance."
Great insight.... great post!
