Shut up and listen!

“Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.” 1 Samuel 3:9

“She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening.” Luke 10:39

Many of us go to the Bible with our mouths wide open; talking “a hundred miles an hour” We are searching for answers, asking all kinds of questions and in general, just trying to learn. This is good!

But sometimes—in fact, many times we just need to open the Bible, read and listen. Listen, not for an audible voice but for inner guidance. I have learned so much this way. You can too.
