IN WITH A BANG, OUT WITH A WHIMPER

Monday, August 17, 2009

Splashing in the pools on our street came in with a bang.

It went out with a whimper.

School resumed today. The summer vacation is over.

Yesterday after church and lunch, Charlotte and I were splashing in our pool.

No splishing, splashing or squealing from any yard around us. Deathly quiet.

Just a wrinkled, old man and an old but young looking woman frolicking around in their pool acting like a couple of kids but knowing they're not.

Sigh!

You bought a tear and smile--thank you! Fall is arriving way to quickly. School does not start here until September.

Clif,

As long as we remaining breathing, we are living. If we are living, there must be a purpose for us that still remains to be done, and I firmly believe our life only gets better the older we get.

Enjoy those precious moments of the morning the kids will be home later in the afternoon, and once more that silence will be filled.
